About the Course
Tennis Overview
Tennis is a popular racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). It is played on a rectangular court, divided by a net, with players using rackets to hit a felt-covered rubber ball over the net into the opponent's court.
Basic Rules
Scoring: The game is scored in points, games, and sets. A player needs to win four points to win a game, six games to win a set, and typically three sets to win a match.
Serving: The game starts with a serve. The server must hit the ball into the opponent's service box. A fault occurs if the serve does not land in the correct area.
Rally: Players must return the ball before it bounces twice on their side of the court. The objective is to hit the ball where the opponent cannot return it.
Types of Tennis
Grass Court: The most traditional surface, known for fast play and low bounce.
Clay Court: Slower surface that allows for higher bounces, favoring baseline players.
Hard Court: A versatile surface that provides a balance between speed and bounce.
