What do we mean by display screen equipment?
Most people immediately think of a computer monitor. However, display screen equipment also includes laptops, tablet PCs, televisions, smartphones, CNC control pads, portable diagnostic screens, or devices with cathode ray tubes (CRTs). The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations provide specific guidelines for DSE safety. Both employers and employee-users have duties under this legislation. This course meets your legal training requirements and covers, among other things, how to properly set up and use your display screen equipment safely, helping to reduce the risk of work-related conditions.
What does the Assessing DSE online course cover?
These courses are designed for users of display screen equipment (DSE) and those responsible for conducting a display screen risk assessment. A 'user' is anyone who regularly uses display screen equipment for a significant portion of their normal work. In practice, if you use display screen equipment continuously for more than one hour a day, you're considered a 'user'.
