About the Course
Food handlers and their employers are legally required to ensure food safety, as outlined by various EU and UK laws. These regulations mandate that food handlers must ensure that food prepared, cooked, served, or sold is safe for human consumption. Neglecting food safety standards can lead to contamination, with potentially fatal outcomes.
Training your employees using our online system will significantly enhance their understanding of the dangers posed by poor food safety standards. It will also cover how food safety risks arise and how to control and prevent them.
What does the Food Hygiene online course cover?
In December 2008, the Food Standards Agency approved a National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme, which is now implemented across all areas of Wales, Northern Ireland, and 99% of England.
The rating scheme aims to ensure that businesses complying with food law and managing food safety risks receive a rating of three, while those managing risks well receive a rating of four or five. However, significant lapses in any scoring criteria can greatly affect the rating.
This course provides an overview of how the National Food Hygiene Rating Scheme operates, the scoring criteria, how inspectors assess these, the appeals process, the Safer Food Better Business management system, E-Coli, and concludes with practical advice to help ensure your premises achieve the best possible score.
