About the Course
Asbestos is likely the most hazardous building material ever utilized. Annually, thousands of individuals become ill and die due to asbestos exposure, and it was extensively used in the construction industry until the year 2000.
The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 applies to employers, employees, self-employed individuals, and duty holders, covering all work involving asbestos-containing materials. Regulation 10 of CAR mandates that every employer must provide sufficient information, instruction, and training to employees who might be exposed to asbestos. This includes maintenance workers and others who may encounter or disturb asbestos.
What does the Asbestos Awareness online course cover?
This course addresses all aspects of asbestos awareness and is intended for anyone who might encounter asbestos in their work. Typically, this includes builders, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and other building-related and maintenance trades.
The course comprises 4 modules with questions at the end. The modules cover topics such as identifying asbestos, its applications, reducing risks, and legislation concerning working with asbestos.
You have the opportunity to review all your answers at the end of each module before final submission, and you will be given 3 attempts per module to achieve a 100% pass rate.
