About the Course
What do we mean by ‘Substances Hazardous to Health’? Legally, these are substances identified as “very toxic, toxic, harmful, corrosive or irritant” according to the Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (CLP). This regulation was introduced in January 2009 and aligns with another set of regulations known as REACH. REACH is a European Union regulation that deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, effective from 1st June 2007. A primary goal of REACH is to ensure a high level of protection for human health and the environment from chemical use.
